Herbicide Free Weeding Event

When : Sunday April 21st from 10am to 12pm
What: The Herbicide Free Team meets every month to tend to the grounds that are our children’s playground. This includes, trash pick up, weeding, and mulching.
Gloves and tools are provided 🙂
Why: The impacts of herbicide use on the environment and on human health are well known (
https://www.ifm.org/news-insights/exposure-pesticides-herbicides-insecticides-human-health-effects/) Weeding instead of using herbicide is one way we can continue to keep our grounds safe.
This is also a great opportunity for our kids to learn about their immediate ecosystem and feel proud about contributing to their community.
Who: Parents, kids, grandparents, aunties and uncles, friends and neighbors of the DCS and Sandburg communities. This is also a great volunteer opportunity for students who need hours for honor society.
Where: Meet by the flagpole in front of the school
